Buckley Systems is an end-to-end manufacturing business and operates several manufacturing centres:
- Machine Shop – we have one of the Southern Hemisphere’s largest CNC machine shop, we are always looking for highly skilled, experienced (10 years+) CNC Machinists.
- Coil Shop – we produce bespoke, hand crafted copper coils for our electromagnets.
- Assembly and Integration – our magnets are assembled and tested by highly skilled assembly technicians.
Our manufacturing centres are backed by teams of Physicists, Design Engineers, Project Managers, Production Schedulers, and Quality Control Technicians, as well as support departments including Finance, Information Systems, IT, and Commercial.
We recruit as and when required, opening roles when there is a genuine business need. We focus on finding the right fit for the role in terms of skill and balancing it with our culture.

Apprenticeship
ProgrammeWe work closely with local high schools, industry training providers, polytechnics, and the community to identify the most suitable candidates for our Apprenticeship Programme. Selected candidates are first offered a six-month fixed-term Pre-Apprentice contract, during which they complete a structured training plan and demonstrate their potential for a full apprenticeship.
Successful Pre-Apprentices are then employed on a four-year fixed-term Apprenticeship Agreement. During this period, apprentices are expected to complete unit standard credits toward their trade qualification and gain a minimum of 8,000 hours of practical work experience.
Each apprentice is paired with senior tradespeople working in the same area providing guidance, answering questions and offering ongoing support throughout the program. Our Apprentice Training Co-Ordinator also helps each apprentice plan out their course work and stay on track so they can finish their apprenticeship on time and move on with their career.
