Janice Urlich Chairperson of the Board
Janice has been a director at Buckley Systems since 2007 and now chairs the board. As a practicing lawyer and having established her own law firm, Urlich Milne Lawyers, she brings a mix of legal and commercial skills to the business.
She regards it as a privilege to be part of Buckley Systems – always proud of its commitment to ingenuity and excellence, its people and its customers.

Luke Bunt Independent Director
With more than 45 years’ experience across manufacturing, retail, wholesale, financial services, and property, Luke Bunt brings a wealth of commercial and governance expertise. He has held directorships in New Zealand companies including Comvita Ltd, Prolife Foods Ltd, and Flooring Xtra Cooperative, and has held senior executive positions at The Warehouse Group and DB Group.
Luke has also worked with organisations of all sizes on acquisitions, restructuring, performance improvement, and dispute resolution. He values the opportunity to contribute to Buckley Systems, supporting its ongoing focus on excellence, innovation, and strong business performance.
EXECUTIVE TEAM
Arron commenced his career as an engineering apprenticeship, later becoming Managing Director of a heavy structural engineering business for 18 years. Arron joined Buckley Systems in 2016 and assumed the CEO role in 2020. He has also held directorships of other manufacturing businesses throughout his career.
A seasoned finance executive with 40 years of international experience, Doug joined Buckley Systems in 2017 to drive strategic alignment between business operations and IT infrastructure and systems. He focuses on retaining the unique “Ingenious at Work” culture Buckley Systems is famous for. Doug has overseen the successful integration of a new ERP system along with developing the Finance and IT teams to support customer growth.
Chris Philpott, PhD Chief Technical Officer
Chris has been at Buckley Systems for over 20 years, and in that time he has designed, configured and tested thousands of magnets. Chris has a PhD in mechanical engineering from the University of Auckland, and is responsible for the Physics and Design teams.
Richard has extensive commercial experience across North America, Asia, and Europe, with a strong focus on global trade and cross-border business. Before joining Buckley Systems in 2022, he spent 14 years with a leading Japanese steel trading company, where he managed import/export operations and international business development in Tokyo, Detroit, and Mexico. Richard looks after the commercial team, including Customer Accounts, Quotes, Purchasing, Inventory, and Marketing.
Dion started with Buckley Systems in 2017 and has 25 plus years' experience in HR roles across Oceania, Asia and North America. He looks after Human Resource, Health and Safety, and Compliance.
Tony started his career as a CNC Machinist at Buckley Systems in 2004 and worked his way up to Group Manager - Operations. Prior to being appointed COO in 2025, Tony was seconded to Buckley Systems International (BSI) in Rowley, MA where he led operations and customer liaison. Tony oversees Manufacturing, Planning and the team at Buckley Systems International.
